Will my block be ok with one of these stroker kits??

Well I know the max limit on a stock 302 is 600HP..347 strokers depending on heads/car can put down around 500-550 ish HP..Would the stock block hold up running a 347 stroker N/A?? I have older Trickflow TW heads and E303 cam...
These are the kits im looking at..First one is a scat and the 2nd is a Eagle..What do ya think? Its a 89 Mustang GT with a 331 stroker so block is already 30 over...

First of all, a 347ci motor with some TW heads and an E303 wont put down anywhere near 500hp unless you are running silly compression. So with that aside, yes you can run a 347ci stroker kit in a stock block. It will have to be clearanced for the rod/crank to clear but yes it will work. I've heard that Eagle's newer stuff has some quality issues an not sure if that has been addressed. With that being known I would go with Scat or K1 Technologies. If you plan on running the TW heads and even a different cam I wouldnt be worried about breaking the block, just keep the RPMs >6000 and it SHOULD hold together fine. Guys are making 500-600 with turbos on stock blocks, some live and some dont. The Scat kit you have listed is Dish/Forced induction pistons. If running N/A you dont want that, as the car will probably make less power then your current combo  I'd find the right combo to make 10-10.5:1 and run it on pump fuel (93) Should be able to make 400-450hp out of that (Crank not RWHP)

For what you will have in building everything new I'd buy one of the many long blocks that pop up on here from time to time and refresh it if needed and eliminate the guess work with something proven ...... Just my opinion after just completing a new motor myself

I'll change the cam for sure..Its old school and could use a update anyways..Was just sayin whats on it now...Any yes,I know I need to call and swap pistons for the TW heads and check valves to pistons ect.. ..Just more wondering about the block...
79cobra,
Yeah I thought about that and already have someone wanting to sale me a used one....

Thanks guys..

Pete,
Thats my first choice, just putting a On3Performance 70mm turbo kit on the 331 stroker..Only time i'll have a good amount of $$ is during tax season and this year I gotta find another chassis..The one I have now is fixable but more work than I wanna do..Once I find a chassis,I might not have enough for the On3 kit so thought about putting a bottle on it but im scared of nitrous lol..Had a bunch of cars with bottles but never used it..Also don't wanna keep filling bottles because to me its tossing $$ out the window, turbo will pay for its self in 2 or so months..Right now im trying to figure out my options so when the time comes,i'll know which way to go depending on funds..Hell,I also found a bunch of SBF 4 bolt blocks in the $1500.00 range..Just not enough $$ for everything at once lol..Even thought about doing a 351W with stock/fresh lower end,cam with my heads and a On3 kit..Seen that setup running mid 9's..Won't have a good setup chassis for that kind of power yet but hoping to down the road...Its just a daily driver project car for the son and I that were slowly building up..That way we can make a weekend car out of it for the family at the track...Also thought about just buying a SBF 4 bolts block and tossing all my stuff in it then running it this summer at the track the way it is..That would be the smart thing to do because i'll have a perfect engine to build on/work with but ive been known to do dumb shit lol..
Man I REALLY,REALLY wish you had your car for sale when taxes come in because I wanted it bad LOL..Thats ggoing to be a awesome ride when ya finish it..

dont bother building a 302, waste of money. nitrous isent a waste of money filling the bottle, its budget friendly. just toss a 100 shot on the 331 and have fun. 347s are rough on the parts because of the crank and rod angle. 331 would be a better option to keep anyway. some nitrous, and fix your body problems first.

and for the right price, it could be forsale come tax season. :) new 351W set up is getting droped off at fast time tommrow. new fuel system and intake are being ordered after the new year.

Once yours if finished,I know it will be worth it but my broke ass won't have enough $$..What you wanted in the ad when she needed fixed was pushing it for my budget but I would of sold or parted out mine..

Its still in the air about useing nitrous..Its not only spending money to fill the bottle, the thought about a nitrous back fire and blowing the engine makes my ass pucker lol..My 331 pretty much has ARP bolts on everything and the heads are studded so a turbo will work perfect..When the time come and don't have the $$ for the turbo kit, chances are i'll go with a bottle but won't spray much until I feel safe about it..

As for fixing this chassis,I can buy a nice roller already done for the amount of $$ it would take to fix this one..It needs new doors, hatch ect... ..Well heres a update video I did not long ago and you'll see how bad it is..

^^ Needs too much work^^

body dont look to bad man if under the cars ok. i just saw your carbed. you dont want to go turbo, you dont have the cash to keep a carbed turbo car running i bet (very expensive and alot of work and knowledge needed) just throw a plate system on it and have fun. if you need help on jet size or help with what you should buy for it let me know. i had one blue fuel pump feeding my old fairmont with a 100 shot. felt nice. id recomend atleast a black to upgrade it if you wanna spray it.

Yeah under the car isn't too bad.Torque boxes aren't rusted, has a hole on each side where the exhaust rubbed but if you watch the video at 3:15,I show the pass side shock tower <--- its pretty bad ..

throw a holly black pump on it, a 750 cfm holly, a wet plate kit set at around 100 shot and split off the fuel lines going to the pump. and turn the timing back 2 degrees. itll be a fun ride.

BTW,
When I find a roller,im getting one that has all the EFI wiring because I want a EFI car again..Seen a bunch with Edel or GT40 upper/lowers so hoping I find one with intakes already on them..

Your goingto talk me into doing this lol..If I do,i'll get everything installed and bring it your way..I know jack about nitrous so will need some help and we can play around a bit...

IMO, if you are going to buy an On3 turbo kit then just keep a factory shortblock. Dont waste money on a nice rotating assembly if you are building a stock block setup. You will make more then enough power to break that block and the factory rotator will outlive it. You can find a good shortblock with forged pistons for under 500 bucks, a used turbo kit for 1000 or less. I've seen that setup run 9's in a notch. Once you have enough money, build a aftermarket block with good internals. I've got a 45k mile shortblock that I will sell you for cheap!

My block isn't stock and not interested in down grading but thanks for the offer..

Your original post asked if your stock block would be ok with a stroker kit and now magically its not a stock block? Interesting. I want what you are smoking.

Do you know the difference between a stock block and stock short block?Did you also bother to read the very first post?I made it clear as day that I have a 331 stroker..Thanks for trying to be a ass..
