who tunes 2005 neon turbo cars

I have no idea who you've been talking to but there really isn't much to install with the AEM setup. It's like a 30 minute job.

This Unit is a bit more money then some of the other units they offer. However I can't put a price in print but I am pretty sure I can beat $2k.

I could do a AEM installed for like $2500 ish. I can't publish the pricing but that would be installed and tuned and out the door.

The predator is almost useless unless you have the CMR software to really dig into it. Well unless they changed the amount of stuff you can get to like the 3d fuel tables.

Online you can get them for ~ 1750 new today. So about 2500 is bucks right on, and yes I know how to install a AEM, very easy, a couple of bolts and its off and then back on. With the SCT / DSP, the install time is about .5 seconds. (Ohh and I know cost on the AEM's... its sick how much they charge for them!!!)

The tuner has the CMR, you buy the handheld for 300 bucks, and a CAN tune. Send the tuner a few pulls (Data logs) and they will send you a new tune for 40-50 bucks. Do this one or two more times and you have a bullet proof setup made exactly for your car, altitude, fuel etc.

From there you can make changes to fuel and timing so if you wanted to run race gas you could easily.

this works great until you need a 3bar system or low impedance injectors or you change camshafts.

There is alot you can do with a stock pcm but the amount that can be done isn't as great as one might belive.

Plus the AEM offers perfect portability. You can tune it and the data manipulation is much easier.

3 bar can be done easily.

Low impedance injectors are a little harder, would need to buy a $100 injector driver box.

Camshafts can be a pain for VE, and the AEM is much easier to do that, but with the data logging feature of the DSP it can be had.

I dont even have the DSP, and I am all about it. If you want anything under 500whp, the DSP is hands down the best bang for the buck. If you are shooting for 600whp, built motor and huge cams, then a AEM will be a much better choice.

With the SCT (Same as DSP... kinda like the CMR, but w/o data logging) I have everything that I need. Boost by gear, mapped to 3 bar system, mapped to 750CC injectors at 43.5psi, but running at 58psi. Timing curve changed deastically for the change in turbo. Slight VE changes and a few other odd's and ends I can't think of.

Trust me, I know this car. ;)

I would be very concerned about Baro table conflicts with a 3bar map sensor without reworking the map sensor transfer function on the OS side of the memory.

I agree that the SCT and Diablosport options are great options " I have been meaning to check out the CMR for Dodge for a while now" but having seen some insider info a while back I can tell ya Things in chryslerville are often odd vs older GM and even older chrysler speed density systems. Its not impossiable its just different.

My biggest concern is alway that damn intelegent adaptive strategy in those pcm's. I got into it a while back and it was giving me a headache reading through it.

If you budget limited the SCT and Diablosport options are good. If you want serious capability AEM is the best way to go.
