Looking for some 17" front runners to clear my cobra brakes on the notch. Anyone know of any? Ive been trying to find a set of alumasport 2.0s but it seems that they are impossible to find at a decent price nowaday, plus I wanted rears to match. Any ideas?

You can clear your brakes without using a 17" wheel/tire combo ($$$$). Or do you simply want to run a 17" setup??

well, I would ideally like to keep the same brake setup if possible. I know I could just take the cobra wheels on it and have em narrowed. But I was looking to see if someone made a lightweight option. The alumastar 2.0s would be perfect, although I kinda wanted to have matching wider rears, but they no longer make them

Keeping the brakes is not a problem.

So do you simply want to run a 17" or are 16"/15" OK. If your only concern is matching front and rears then your options are next to nothing with the 17", because as you mention even the Alumastar doesn't have a great match for the rear, and they are almost $600/wheel. Maybe you can find a set of (front and rear) Greg Welds, those are 17".

16" you can do a Bogart, and they will weld the spacer right onto the wheel, 15" there are a bunch of options.

15s that will clear 13" brakes?

I never understood this. The 2.0 are FUCKING BEAUTIFUL wheels, but they quit making them. There is a trunk car in the latest 5.0 or MM&FF with fronts and rears and it looks simply amazing.

that guy is on corral and turbomustangs. He has my old turbo kit on that car. Wanted to trade me the front wheels for the turbo kit. Ummm not so much batman.
They misprinted the turbo size. 82 not 88

yep, dumbasses. id totally shell out the 600 a pop for them if they made a matching set, but im not gonna pay 1200 for 2 wheels that dont match the rears

Centerline can make you some but it will take FOREVER!!!!! I have some 18x5's and they make can do a "17. You could narrow some stockers at Weldcraft.

M&H make skinny radials for 17x5 and 18x5.

Race Star or Greg Welds

Matt,
I ran 1" hub centric spacer for a set 15" Prostars on those brakes. It will clear but will stick out a little bit...
yeah, the problem with my setup is that I already use the 96+ steering knuckles, which stick out farther than stock. Id look like a mexican lowrider if I used a 1" spacer.

Those Race Stars will be the ticket right there. ive never seen anyone run them though, gonna have to start searching for a pic of the 17s

Those race star wheels are going to be perfect actually. its actually the only wheel ive seen with a 7" backspacing in a 9.5" width, which is exactly what I need for the SN95 rear axle swap
