Ok i'm going to make this as short as possible.
Moved in with my wife after getting married (condo), now we're looking to sell and move out. When she bought there almost 2 years ago i told her she needed to figure out who had controll of the association, since none of the residents had a clue we talked to. Well now that we are listing it for sale we're finding out more that they dropped the FHA eligeability contract. Now we have a few other questions we had needed answered and cannot get a hold of the last known person who was taking care of things.
The Condos were built in 2006 and the residents never aquired the association or took it over from the builder/owners. We got a number from a property management company a year ago and got a hold of the person "responsible" and got what we needed at the time. Now we can't get ahold of the person "responsible" so we contacted the management company, just for them to tell us teh guy is no longer employed with them and works for the property owner of the condo. How is this possible that the owner still has control of the association? How do we get it out of his hands into the resident owners where it belongs? I can't believe out of the 80 residents in this complex, not one of them has cared enough to figure this out. Specially since they raised the fee by almost double this year, and our landscaping and services provided by the association are terrable.
Anyone have real experiences with this? I don't want to get a lawyer involved, but if needed i may have to. Aren't associations supposed to be comprised by the residents/owners of the condo's?
