Who here drag races slot cars?

Hey,
I'm thinking about getting into drag racing slot cars. I ran/owned a 1:24 Scale GTO hardbody about 12yrs ago but no involvement in slot cars since then.
Where do you guys run?
Anyone have a car or multiple cars that they are willing to sell at a discounted price to help someone get into the hobby?
Oh ya, does anyone here drag race HO scale or just 1:24?
 
I drag race josh. Place in westland, belleville, and lincoln park. I prefer the westland place, very laid back good powered track with new owners. Got two buddies I race with too. I know I have one car I may part with maybe two. Let me know if you wanna head over and check out the place in westland or any other for that matter.

They have a drag track for ho in belleville and maybe livonia, but not sure.

Derby, im going to start here soon and hopefully more after my wedding in november. Let me know if your gonna go. I need to go on a test day to get my cars set back up and dialed in. They have new owners, paul the last guy who ran it dies a month or so back. So far the new owner,who was a regular racer there, has cleaned it up and done a little maintanance to the track.

Yeah if you watch e bay and some of the slot boards you can get great deals. But to build even the most basic car or buy new is a minimum of 110 bucks. Nice cars are north of o150 to 200, then if you wanna go fast...lol. but proslots did just release a new series of neo motors called the velociraptor (sp) that absolutely fly for as little as 65 bucks. They have been los. 8xx in 100 gram cars aand.69x in 85 gram. Motors that fast used to cost double or more depending onmagnet material.

The place in Westland is right around the corner from me. If I can get into it for cheap, I'll do it this winter.
