looking for something in a 195/75/15 ish area. Is it OK to go get cheap radials or is it really important to get the nicer tires from say m&h or m/t that are about 2x the price. I've never run front skinny's before so I just wanted to make sure.

ive ran radials and the drag tires. drag tires drive like ass they feel like slicks on the front, so if your driving alot on the street id go with the radials.

They are more expensive because the speed ratings are higher. A generic 195/15 tire will be rated under 120mph. Agree with JQ.....you do not want to drive with bias ply front tires on the street, you will hate it. Save those for track duty only.

Those are basically the same exact tire as far as ride characteristics and both will fit nearly identical on a 4" wheel (M&H just slightly wider). I run those MT tires and a buddy has the M&H, both on the same exact wheel.....no difference.

which tread pattern you like more?

Doesn't matter.....that is personal preference.

For an extra $50 a tire.....why risk it. Would suck to have a blowout doing 130mph+ on a front skinny.

go look at the speed ratings on drag radials. Not very high. I agree it is better to get the proper tire but speed ratings are 100% duty cycles over a 60 minute period.

Just something to keep in mind. Also most tires if you contact the manufacturer have a burst speed rating that does not get published.
