Need to replace a plug for my exciter wire for my alternator. It's a 1 wire alternator but it uses a 4 pin plug.

Any idea where I could find this plug at?

Damn, dealership wanted 71 bucks for it. Advanced auto had nothing. Might have to buy it online. Was hoping to have it by the weekend

i just told you there are some at pepboys. look at my post. lol

edit: Maybe i was unclear. I work there and I special ordered some in so we had em incase anyone needed one. they are common problems on the GM trucks.

im not there today, just tell them you need part number "PT200" and that T.C. Said they should be by the special order stuff. haha

Big thanks man. The plug was what I needed but unfortunately didn't resolve my issue. Looks like I need to swap alternators. I'm getting 12 volts to this regulator but the alternator just refuses to charge the battery. Thought it might be the plug but I'm out of options really. It has to be that regulator on the alternator or something.

sure its supposed to get 12 volts?
most have a 470ohm resister
or if its really a 1 wire you have to rev it over 3000 before it will charge

It only has 1 wire going to it. I will get out in the car and rev it past 3K and see what happens. Thanks!

1 wire doesnt really mean 1 wire. most only have 1 but it has to be in diff spots. some are voltage controlled, pcm controlled,
alts that are supposed to have a light or gauge and dont anymore have to have a 470ohm resister in that wire or the regulator will blow

here's a quick test, unplug that plug, start the engine, take a test light(the kind witha bulb) and touch it to that terminal, see if it starts charging
