I don't want to spend big $$, but I need a nice suit, and it may have to be modified to fit me correctly. Anybody have good suggestions on where to shop?

Trust me when I say this. JC Penney has great quality suits for the best prices I've ever found. I wear a suit to work everyday and JC Penney has never let me down.

You can get a quality perfect fitting wool Haggar suit, typically for about $150. That's pants and Jacket. Sometimes you can get it for less. I got a really nice Black with white pin stripe Jacket for $70 and the pants for $30. It was an extremely nice suit and awesome quality.

Go to TJ Maxx or Marshalls for your shirts, belt, and ties. They have name brand high quality ties that you would pay $30 for at a department store selling for $7-$15.

Agreed. The JCPenny at Lakeside mall used to have a huge mens department and helpful, knowledgable sale people. I haven't been there in a year or so but they are one of the best mens clothing stores for reasonably priced, quality stuff IMO. Otherwise Jos A Bank has sales from time to time but they're pricey.

x2 That and Mens Warehouse can have nice deals as well.

AVOID MENS WAREHOUSE LIKE THE PLAGUE.
I got 2 suits from there (BOGO), I HATE them.

Maci's has decent stuff off the racks, Nordstroms a little nicer. Both at SommerSet.

Maybe it was the brand/suit you bought. I have had two that have lasted me quite some time :D

Also try Nordstrom Rack in Troy. Never pay Nordstrom retail prices for clothing.

Thanks for the input guys. It seems like I heard about a good place on Telegraph? a while back, but can't remember where/what it was. Does that ring a bell with anyone?

lol that guy helped me get a suit a couple years ago. jcpenny's does have a very good selection. If you got to lakeside it would be worth it to walk over to Mr Sam Tailor as well. I went in there with my buddy and he gave us a killer deal on two suits, plus he's entertaining to tlak to haha

I go to Back Rack (believe I spelled that wrong) - decent prices and they fit you on the spot and do the alterations as part of the deal.
