Just picked up a 71 chevelle and would like an older 71 plate. Any tips would be great on how it all works for registration etc thanks

You need both plates. At least you used to back when I registered my Coronet to 1970 plates. Other than that it wasn't a big deal.

I dont think you need both plates. My 57 is registered that way and only uses the rear plate. I'm going to be registering a few others next year, so we'll see.

you are supposed to have both so they know somebody else doesnt have the plate

I have a bunch of license plates I'm about to put on ebay. I went through mine I have four matching sets of 1971 plates. Because I love 71' Chevelle's Pick a set yours Free (early Christmas gift). You have to pick them up in Clinton township 48035.

I think you only need one plate. But I have a pair of Michigan plates for the Studebaker. I'm old school...LOL!
