In my 88 Coupe it was almost center behind the stereo. mine was constantly going off. It has a plug you can unplug and silences it.

oh the only thing I can think where it is at. basically where the glove box is. but that box has 2 plugs.not sure if you can see it.but that's the only thing I can think of and its going to be a pain with the dash in.
