When Mother Nature Strikes

This is the aftermath following Saturday storms. Pretty much one of my trees split in half landing on a 65' pine tree causing it to come crashing down. Luck was on my side, because the tree only caused minimal damage to my house and my vehicles.

Mann! I probably would crap my pants if I was to be standing in the window and see that tree coming down towards me!!

im one who always finds the positives in a situation. lol just kidding glad to hear nothing seriously bad happened.
what happens with those trees now? does the city cut them up and remove them or are you responsible to take care of that?

It's funny you say that because I was actually standing in my window as I saw it come crashing down.

Actually, I'm responsible for cutting it all up. At least 10 different companies drove by and gave me estimates to take care of it. Their prices ranged from $500 - $3500.

youre very lucky! you couldnt have fallen that tree and have it land between your cars if you tried to!

Wow, you got lucky there Jeff! Let me know if you need any help cleaning it up. I have some free time after this weekend. I gotta see if I can get my chainsaw started. It hasn't run in a few years. But I have some wood to cut up in my yard too.

For $500 what are they going to do? Are they getting rid of the tree stump and all debris?

Actually, I had a guy come by this morning and said that he would do it all for $350. He's going to be back in an hour. He's going chop it all up, haul it away and fix my other tree. I just have to go find someone that does stump grinding now.

Yea, I got very lucky.

I appreciate the offer Tony, but it's going to be removed by the end of the day. It's such an eye sore. For everyone that stopped and starred, I was charging $5. LOL

ill take some of the wood if you start giving it away..

I know my neighbor is taking the wood from the Hickory. If you want some of the pine, let me know. I'll have some of the guys put it off to the side.

I got blessed with that luck last year when that storm hit in like july? A big branch landed in my neighbors driveway. Between my truck in my driveway and his recently restored 73 mastercraft sitting on the trailer in his driveway.

Damn Jeff, That is fucked up. I couldn't picture it being that bad when you were telling me earlier. That is crazy! Well lets have a good road trip this weekend.....
