wheelie bar rules for milan all motor have been posted
http://www.yellowbullet.com/forum/showthread.php?t=201896

I copied & pasted what it says for those that are having trouble getting on the bullet.

Wheelie Bars: Wheels must be non-metallic. May not be attached to rear bumper or bumper braces. May be 48 inches in length or to the rear bumper, whichever is longer. Length is checked from centerline of rear axle to center of wheelie-bar wheel.

Add 50 pounds to base weight if using wheelie bars

This is awesome. My Dad's buddy that has the blue 3rd gen sat his car on the bumper this summer. Lets just say it hurt the car pretty badly :( I'll try to get the pics and video.

Bob owns and drives the car. Mike is his friend who helps work on it.

Bob Harvey...ya he is a good guy! That car is wicked!I would love to run the numbers he does some day.But I will have to use nitrous(not all motor).

There goes all motor

I know that at Milan it really is whoever has the most money wins, but without wheelie bars at least the slower guys had a slight chance.

You can argue that the wheelie bars are for safety, but I say why don't you set the car up to not do a wheelie. Sure you might be slower, but you will be safer. That would also let the more budget racers have a chance. And just a "chance" is all anyone needs. You can forget about any chance now. Mag lost 2 races last year. 1 was due to spinning the tires and the other was due to a wheelie. If there were a wheelie bar on that car neither of those 2 events would have happened and he would have won every race he entered. Next year AJ's car will be in the 7s. Mag’s car might even be in the 7s with the old car and the small block. With the new car... easily.

Traction is the limiting factor in this class. It is what makes an 8.90 car have a chance against an 8.40 car. If you take that away then it is just point A to point B every time. If you didn't finish in the top 6 in points and plan on stepping up your game, I am not sure why you would even bother showing up. Save it for No ET.

My Opinion

Milan

I will say this.. at least Milan restricted them to how long they are. They did good with that.

They will have a real hard time getting car counts, I know a couple people who raced the class the last 2 years and they have said they will go back to bracket racing because allowing wheelie bars in the class just created a bigger gap between the have and the have not's. The class will also be be boring you are going to have some people running in the 7's running people in the 9's not good racing. Until they decide to try and slow the cars down they will see more racers drop out. I am glad I have not started on my car this winter yet I was going to go back to running the class but now bracket racing here i come.

It's tough to predict. There may be a whole lot of new guys coming in or converting from other classes because of this.

We'll see what happens this summer. I am very optimistic about it though.

We raced that class for 2 years. In 2004 we won a race going 9.40's. We came back in 2005 going 9.00's and couldnt qualify in the top half of the field.
