1996 F350 standard cab 7.3 diesel.
the truck is MINT. i mean, not a spot or piece of rust anywhere on it, frame, floor, rockers, sheetmetal, all solid as a rock.
interior is a 9/10. bench seat, only bad spot is a tiny tear on drivers side, aside from that interior is good.
truck has a bunch of new parts, and i know it runs very well. a friend owns the truck.
it has a custom flat bed on it. diamond plate steel. its very nice, my friend currently uses it for a mobile welding rig. has a badass hitch, and winch on the rear of the flatbed.
the truck has newer brakes (wont need to be done for quite awhile.

the bad:
the truck has a manual trans, and its about time for a new clutch.
the truck has 360,000 miles on it.
the truck will need tires soon.

what would you be willing to pay for it? i have an opportunity to buy it, and him and i have been talking about price. i do not NEED the truck but i can see it being very useful for the right price.

if i dont buy it, he doesnt really know what to ask for it.

i scanned through craigslist and autotrader to try and see what they are going for, but the ones in any kind of decent shape have low miles, so i figure they are priced higher. and the ones with comparible miles, you could throw a german shephard through the bed sides, i figure they are on the low end.

any insight is appreciated.

for you to be buying it, you have to make that call on what its worth to you. like you said you dont need it but im sure you dont wanna lowball your buddy.

now for the general public, vehicle unseen, id probably ask 5 to 6k mite get a little more if he wants to sit on it and wait till the right person comes along. even though its mint, the year and miles kill it in my eyes. Even though it adds up to just over 20k a year, its one of those barting tools someone will always use.(EDIT) the clutch is a big stab that i overlooked to....that may knock the price down to the lower 5k range, high 4k range.(EDIT)

again this is just my opinion, im sure someone will have a different one.

with a diamond plate bed on it, i wouldnt even buy it. You cant call something mint when it isnt all original

i agree with you on pretty much all accounts. and your right, i dont want to lowball him.

i guess we have different definitions of the word mint. basically i mean its spotless, no rust, the flatbed is a tool on this truck not a cheap fix for a rotting bed or something along those lines.

its probably a cab and chassis truck originaly, what would I pay 2.5k tops

good info here too! thanks.

the miles do and dont scare me. if that makes any sense haha. just the fact that its coming up on 400k will scare anyone. but i do know it runs great (just drove it from pennsylvania to port huron and back recently) and it has alot of new parts (engine/suspension/front end etc)

I recently sold this F250 :

- 1999 XLT
- 2WD
- 7.3 Diesel
- Very clean Ohio truck
- 217,000 miles
- No oil leaks, new tires, nice $$$ extras etc.
- Sold for $6,950.

The 7.3 diesels only seem to be going up in price, that is still
the Ford diesel to own. Nice ones still command good money!
