in the market for a new phone. going to be getting a new one tomorrow sometime just don't know what to get.

my last 2 phones where the galaxy note 4 then most recent my note 5 and I loved both of them, they did everything I needed and more.

I would still be using my note 5 but today I dropped my phone 2 feet off of my couch ( onto soft ass carpet lol ) and now its 100% dead, did not crack the screen or anything its just dead. my luck I guess.

I'm thinking I want the note 7 if its fixed of its issues. really cant see myself crossing over to iPhone.

what do you guys suggest ? has to be a big screen phone ( 5.5in or bigger )

Note 7's with the updated batteries are in stock in most places now. Samsung was aggressive about getting the defective units out of customer hands quickly. I wouldn't let the battery issue keep you from considering it.

I was leaning towards getting the note 7 also. I have a DROID turbo right now & I love it, it's just getting old.

I used android phones for years and tried an iPhone 6s on a whim and was surprised that I actually like it.

If you take a lot of photos with your phone you might consider an iPhone 7.

Google Pixel XL http://www.gsmarena.com/google_pixel_xl-8345.php It comes out next week. http://venturebeat.com/2016/09/26/this-is-the-google-pixel/ I won't use any Android phone aside from the stuff Google actually makes themselves. You get the bleeding edge features, stability, and guaranteed updates for 3 years. With every other Android phone, you get a year or two at the most, along with all the bloat they install to "customize" the experience.

I could do without the bloat. I hardly use any of it

Ended up with the s7 edge. No note 7 available for a few weeks. So in a few weeks I'll trade this in and get the note 7.

No SD card slot, and features that phones 2yrs old already had. I can't believe Google is doing this. I thought they would be a leader??

We won't know the features until next week when Google finally takes the wraps off. No SD slot can be a gripe for some, but to me it's a non-issue since I don't store anything on my phone.

Are there any new Android flagships coming out any time soon? I need a new phone too but am undecided as to whether I should spend $600+ on a phone that's a half year old already.

Honestly, phones have plateaued like the rest of computer tech the last few years. Most improvements will be in the software and not the hardware. Aside from fingerprint readers and cameras, there really isn't anything noteworthy. Even the budget $200 to $300 phones (Moto G, Huawei Honor 5x) are very good, the main difference between them and the flagships being amount of RAM and the GPU. I usually pass out Moto Gs like hotcakes come Christmas, no complaints yet. I had a Moto G myself for a bit, but it fell out of my pocket and the screen shattered. I only got my Moto X because the deal I got made it cost pretty close to what a new Moto G would've cost me.

Im in need of a new Android phone. I was set on the nexus 6p, but halted after hearing of Google new line. Dont want to buy the 6p and be stuck with a dying platform.

Guess this is the one I've been waiting for. Admittedly nothing groundbreaking, but at least a slightly newer processor than everything else, other specs on par with everything else, premium build quality, and pure Android N. If I'm paying that much for phone (which is on par with other flagships), at least it'll be the newest and most pure. No SD card kinda sucks, but 128gb + free unlimited cloud storage should suffice for my needs. I'm excited that Google chose to have full control over both the hardware and the software. I've always agreed with the logic behind doing this, just wish it was an option and not a requirement as it is with the Apple ecosystem.
