Depends on clearances and bearing materials. Generally speaking either 10-30 or a 15-40 weight is fine. For a filter either use a Mobil 1 or a K&N filter. If your looking at what brand of oil, I use and recommend both Brad Penn and Royal Purple. Both oils have picked my engine up in HP on our Engine dyno.

They make a break in motor oil you should use for at least a few miles or heat cycles. Other then that, just don't put some ignorant ass 50wt oil in your engine.

I used mobile 1, its cheap at walmart and never had a problem with it. Also the WIX filter.
