What happened to Friday night/Saturday night cruising and little car hang outs?

Where did everyone and everything go? I grew up waiting for Friday's and Saturday's at donuts donuts at tele and joy, then got bumped out, and went down to tele and ecorse. Now, right now, 10:25 at night on a Saturday, there's 1 focus st, and a hilbilly f150c and a Mini Cooper, and me in a Lincoln MKZ that would smoke anything in this parking lot!




What happened? Been out of it for 10 years I know, but my god!
 
I tried Woodward a long time ago, and it was a ghost town, but I was young and probably in the wrong area. Where at on Woodward? By the cruise area?
 
Woodward like around 13 mile give or take a mile or so. It's not packed just a parking lot here and there. There's a parking structure down around 696 and woodward where people congregate inside. haven't been there but my son's been there a few times with his SRT4 and says there are sometimes some big name people with fast stuff in there.
 
I agree it has died off a lot lately. There used to be big cruise nights every night of the week now they are all small and filled with the same cars. Woodward has died off and is filled with kids in Scat Packs and imports. IDK when Gratiot died off but it was really fun to cruise in the early 00's. I for one like to take my 67 out and cruise hope Woodward picks up soon.
 
The Gratiot Pub has its cruise nights on Tuesday starting at 7pm. The Gratiot pub is in Clinton Twp on Gratiot between 15 and 14 mile. grat pub.jpg Lot.jpg
