what fuel pump would you run? e85, efi, etc

DarkoStoj

A mysterious figure named Darko
converting from carb to big stuff 3 on my street car. I was just wondering what everybody recommends for a good fuel pump and regulator? Would like to be able to handle atleast 1000 to the tire. Also would standard stainless braided lines be OK with e85 use or should I switch over to teflon lined hoses?

Teflon hoses are the best and are reccomended for e85, what ever line you use make sure its compatable with e85. Im pretty sure ALL teflon coated lines are.

Get a belt drive fuel pump... Aeromotive... Weldon...

how are they for street use with a rear fuel tank? I'm crammed at the front of the engine with the blower stuff and it would be a pain to setup.

Plenty of cars use them on the street... You can also go cam driven or cable driven

do they have problems with starting? I'd honestly prefer a mechanical over an electrical, simpler and less to go wrong, and its quieter

ive seen guys that the car starts up immediately. the fuel is already at the motor, as soon as you crank you have pressure

In tank electric is quietest. But.. with a ton of Blower drive noise, would you be able to hear a body mounted electric pump?

yea no shit, how Are you even worried about the noise of the Fuel Pump over your blower darko?

or maybe you dont want the fuel pump to drown out your blower ?

I dunno about with a roots blower, but I could definitely hear my little Bosch 044 body mounted fuel pump over my Vortech T-Trim. The fuel pump had the rubber isolators and everything, and the T-Trim was anything but quiet. I'd assume a Weldon/Magnafuel/other big-ass pump would be just as bad if not worse.

If I had the room and the resources I'd probably give a belt-driven pump a whirl if I needed to move that much fuel.
