What do you think is wrong?

Ok heres my engine going into my truck. It is stuck right here. I cant get the engine mounts to line up. I am thinking of just taking off the engine mounts and putting them on the motor, then dropping it back down. I am just wondering since this is a manual, do you think the splines are lined up? It is awfully close. Give me your input. :pow:

Looks like the trans may not be into the pilot bearing enough. If this vehicle has a hydrualic clutch try running a few bellhousing bolts down till they just touch the bellhousing and press on the clutch. This should line up the bellhousing and input shaft properly and slide everything together nicely.Its either that or you have the wrong pilots bearing input shaft combination.

The splines in the clutch and input shaft are already engaged. It looks appears that the tip of the input shaft isn't going into the pilot bearing. Get 2 bolts started on each side of bellhousing and put a floor jack under the oil pan at the rear and raise it slightly until the gap between the engine and bellhousing is uniform (top to bottom). Wiggle engine around until it "falls in". What ever you do, don't use the bolts to try to draw the bellhousing to the engine.

Yea, thats what I was gonna try. Just seeing what everyone more or less thought of the splines on the trans lining up
 
Wiggle it like a mofo after you get a few bolts loosely started and the input shaft might find its way into the pilot bearing. The engine mount requires tool J032436 also known as the biggest prybar you can find. I have ground a conical shape to end of the bolt with good luck too (using a BFH of course).
 
UPDATE So, the engine mounts are about a hole off on each side. I took the mount off the frame and attached it to the block mounts then dropped the engine down. The holes on the frame need to be moved up about a holes length on each side. The engine on both sides are a hole high. :wtf: is the deal? This makes no sense at all :swear:
 
you are gonna want to put the trans in gear and get a big pair of channel lock pliers and turn the output shaft to try and line the splines up. assuming that you made sure the clutch fit the trans first and the TOB didn't fall.

if its that far in, the splines are engaged. Its suck on the pilot bearing. Push the clutch lever in and wiggle the trans.

Are those the same mounts you took off the old engine? I have had to stick a screw driver in the hole and pry them over while putting the bolt in the other side
