Lean in a nitrous tune will not hurt anything. What makes them break is too much timing. I've sprayed my car on accident with the nitrous fuel pump not turned on.. That's NO fuel at all and a 108 jet on nos side thru a big shot plate. Only thing it did was lay over and act like a lazy sob, too much timing = broke pistons
not enough fuel and correct timing = turd.


Most guys run they're timing heavy on nos by mistake/lack of knowledge and get away with it cuz they tune them fat as fuck which eventually lifts the ring lands and breaks the pistons.

Intresting, It was a few years back but If I remember right I was taking out around 6 degrees from my base on motor

I was messing with a 302 a lil while back and was pulling 16-19 hitting it with 200-275 and that's with using 114 nos fuel. I would have pulled more if it was just 110. Base timing was 35, It ran its best pass with 19 degrees in it total on the kit. If I tried to add even half degree more timing it would start to speckle the hot cylinders plug.

I run my stuff on lean side as well, for example... in a NOS brand plate I run tunes with 4-18 jet spreads favoring the nitrous side and start with only 5.5 psi on the fuel side flowing. so one of my typical jetting starting points for a cheater plate would be 90n/82f with 5.5 psi flowing thru a 73 jet. Read plugs and go from there...

SOme will some wont...lol It's a crap shoot.

I pulled 9 on a 175 shot. every motor is different, depends on cam timing and valve events.Started at 35 sprayed 175 at 26 degrees. Antying more would kill MPH and put a light pepper on the plugs.
