What can I do for Timing/Fuel management if I turbo my

I must stay with the stock ECM as it controls the tranny and a seperate Tranny controller or a non E tranny would eat my budget up quickly.

Issues.
1. No Knock sensor on my motor, what do I need to add one? any reocmmendations?

2. Could I just use an MSD Timing retard system to pull timing when under being inducted?

3. Fuel Mgmt under 5PSI do I really need to worry about it?

Do not do it. Headgaskets barely hold at stock power levels. There maybe software out there for the box from www.tunercat.com or we might be able to hack it out.

I've seen the 4.9 turbo'd and running 8 Psi and it has damn near 1000 1/4 mile passes. 4 trannies, nothing done to the motor since (other than head work to decrease compression), I have a full write up how he did it, however he used a diffrent ecm which won't control the tranny so.

He was running 11.5 -12.20 I have video somewhere.

I think you could use the stock Box whats the part number ????

Get me a part number off the box.

Hey Sean sorry for the delay anyways I'm using a 2240 PCM, The Chip has been reprogrammed already, however the guy who did it will reprogram for a diffrent tune upon request.

One option would be to use a 749 PCM, which is the Syclone 2 Bar Map, It's been tried on the 4.9 and they didn't have much luck RPM Surge. I don't think the 749 has the ability to control a E Tranny so here's my current thinking.

ECU/4.9/4T60E (2240 PCM)
Shift Kit for 4T60E (2 Choices B&M, or Transgo) Leaning towards B&M
Additional injector controller (any recommendations?)
Crane ignition with 2 bar map and boost retard
HX40 Holset turbo with 6psi wastegate (adjusted to 5psi)
Bosch pop off valve on the intake side.
Knock Sensor (Autozone part number SU1128 $35)
Alcohol Injection
Possibly Inter cooler (mounting / location will require some engineering)

749 is not E tranny friendly or capable. I will need that prom to snag a copy of the prom if you can bring the PCM over here I can read it right off.. However there is an older 4t60 thm440 that is non electronic that will bolt in.

I've really though about going that route. If I do go from -E to non E tranny I'll most likely go 4T80 as it's stronger. Heavier but stronger. Right now I'm still thinking how I want to do it. get a budget together and start acquiring parts, maybe use this winter to build it :D

If your going that far just drop a Northstar in it and Be done.
