What cam?

Have roughly a $600-700 budget. What cam can I use with stock heads and new springs that will sound good with flows and dumps? Not too concerned about horsepower but, want it too sound really good. Eventually will put some good heads on it but, not in budget at the moment. Was thinking re-gasket, timing chain, and cam, lifters and springs for now. Any advice is appreciated. Thanks.
 
I've seen mostly power losses with a cam swap and stock heads/intake. I'd save alittle more and do it all at once. heads/cam/intake.

e-cam always sounded nice though with flowmasters and a good exhaust. You can probably find one cheap since this is kind of a waste of money. You dont want to invest too much.

I hear ya. I forgot to mention I will be getting a GT-40 upper and lower w/ spacer to go on it also. Like I said, not at all concerned with HP loss because the car will never be raced. More of a family toy than will ever be a race car. I was looking into the E cam but, need to know if F cam will work with stock heads and pistons.
 
F cam will not fit with stock heads and pistons unless you notch the pistons normally. Its a coin toss I've been told. The one car I had experience with using a f cam it ate some valves cuz they didn't clay it.

btw I live in wyandotte as well so not more than 5 minutes from ya prob. If your interested make me a offer on the cam.

I have two of them laying around one I prob won't sell since it just came out of my motor and its alil beat up. The other one was in my old motor a few years ago its been standing on the bench forever now.
 
f cam is a good cam way better than a trickflow stage 1 have had both and f cam car ran 3 tenths faster same combo if you can get away with it go f cam. i have tfs track heats so it works perfect with my combo

if it was a boosted application its understandable, however NA on a stock head I would go with the TFS1 cam any day. esp. on a car with spray.
 
B303...GT-40 (explorer) Intake and dart heads ! Im sure you can find all this stuff here for a good price.

I picked up an E303, got a Cobra upper and lower w/ throttle body coming(FREE), and have eyes peeled for a smoking deal on a set of heads.
 
You should be able to find a set of dart jr's like whats on my motor for around 450-600 used and in good shape.

They're a Iron head but they work real good out of the box on a small cubing inch motors.
