what a mess of a storm!

those trees look as bad as the one nextdoor to me.

i think she is waiting for it to fall on my house so her house insurance will cover all my damages..

with all this wind its bound to happen..

big storms are on the way rightnow. i hope i dont lose power because my basement will surely flood if that happens the pump cant run and i do not have a backup plan as of yet..

yeah, there is a line of storms headed this way. the wind and clouds are picking up here in lansing right now.

is your foundation still exposed right now from you digging around it?? borrow a generator from someone that you know has 2, just to be safe.

Yeah my garage door caved in! So now i need to add bracing or get a new doorm, and that not happening anytime soon....

OK so DTE is finally at my moms house, although they told my mom they "have no idea how their going to fix it".... they said that the tree trimmers have yet to show up but they dont get any closer than 10 feet from the power lines. this tree is ON the live line! haha. they also HATE ash trees since they are so unpredictable (rot from the inside and have no clue which way they will break/fall)

my mom told them that whatever they do, she doesnt want any wood left on her property nor any trucks driving through her yard creating a mess, since the tree is NOT hers. she said go through the neighbors yard, who owns the tree.

I have a feeling the tree company is going to tell DTE to cut the power completely before they will even attempt to cut the tree down. My moms in for a long night of no power and chainsaws going crazy! haha

Our power came back about 6 tonight. My cheap murrays generator did the trick though. :D I was getting 12 hour plus run times just running the fridge, a freezer and the sump.

I bought 2 of those (3500watt), they are both great generators! for $87 each you cant beat it.

luckily now the generators arent needed right away (water driven backup sump). unless the power stays out long enough to make the food go bad in the fridges the generators will likely stay off.

I really need to invest in a generator.

the tree is down, they dropped it to the ground and left it where it fell, luckily not on my moms yard. it took down all 3 other wires with it too so they are all on the ground.

the power was cut and the water powered pump is working great. they will hopefully get the power back up soon.

I was wrong... DTE just said that the power wont be back on for us until tomorrow, when they can string a new line up. :pow:

man im going to have to get me one of those! $87? was that a special or something?

So the neighbors finally realized they are their trees and had them taken down!! Im pretty excited because they were going to fall on our property at any moment. i spoke to the crew that was out there and they showed me the trees (inside) and they were like 80-90% rotten. I was amazed they were even standing, the crew was too.

needless to say, the backyard looks WAY cleaner now that those 80 foot monsters are gone.
