Welding the torque boxes of a fox mustang

I want to do this at home but I only have a Harbor Frieght 110 volt Mig welder. I know the metal is pretty thin back there so I am pretty sure I will be safe for welding the seams of both lower and upper torque boxes. What do you guys think?

Mine were MIG welded, I know a bunch of other people who had them MIG welded as well.

You just gotta know how to weld right, and have nice clean metal its hard to get all the cracks and crevis good with a roloc wheel and be careful I was battling undercoating older then me and it def burns when it drips on ya

Mine are Mig welded, but my car's under body is like new. If your's has some surface rust issues going on and the metal is thin, I would find someone to Tig it up for you. Otherwise you run the risk of blowing holes thru the floor all over the place.

My car is pretty clean so I will give it a try with my mig. Wish I could tig, just dont know a damn thing about it though...wish me luck. Im not worried about blowing holes all over as its just a 110 mig so penetration is not its strong point.

If you do a tig you probably won't need any filler rod so it will kind of be like mig but only better!

Mine are MIG'd with a 220V Miller. I've also done some others the same way. Just MIG it and be done with it. Crank up your wire speed to help with burn through. I can do yours if you are worried about doing it yourself.

Thats cool I will try it first to see if I can screw it up by myself:) Thank You though!
