Water winter wonderland plate coming back!

I doubt it, SOS makes lots of mistakes. The law states they are to be placed in the top right corner but lots of people don't have time for silly rules [emoji23][emoji23][emoji23]

The best are they ones that have one of each color in each corner.

I have a young coworker that has tabs all over his plate ... didn't believe me when I told him that it gives cops probable cause to pull him over ...

I got 3 new plates for my cars.
Personalized plates are available but only in 6 letters/numbers.
Some confusion on the stickers. Two of mine came said to put them on the upper right.
Third plate showed up had a yellow insert that said put the sticker on the bottom right.

Mine came yesterday, it had the normal registration envelope that instructed to put it on the upper right. Problem is, it literally won't fit there. I also saw that there was a line printed on the bottom right of the actual plate, and it fit nicely there, so I assume that's where they intended it to go. It's where I placed it, anyway.

Just got my winter wonderland plate the the sticker was pre installed on the lower right corner from the SOS.

Weird, I got mine yesterday and nothing was preinstalled. They literally taped the normal envelope with sticker and registration to the plate and then shrink wrapped it for mailing.

I know, every time I have had to deal with the sos, they have tried to do less than the bare minimum every time. I was shocked

How long does it take to get the personalized plate?

took mine 2-3 weeks for the snow rig.

The only thing I don't like about that new plate being on my
car, it is very easy to read.

I got one of those "sunset" plates with the white letters / numbers,
harder to read, that is why the state changed the lettering on those to black.

They need high contrast for the plate readers. Oh well

I ordered one of the new plates for my truck. I think I'm finally going to get a plate cover and put some 850nm IR lights inside of it. It creeps me out that people are driving around with license plate recognition software to track cars *for fun*.

The License plate readers the state has on the I routes can read any plate, in state or out of state. Stay off the I, US routes and Mackinac bridge and you won't have to worry. This isn't anything new, they have been using them for about 10 years now

The police state doesn't bother me as much. Everything you do is monitored by the state. I mean, they spend millions of dollars to automate parking ticket creation so someone just has to drive around and scan your plate.

But what I'm talking about is private business scanning plates to track car whereabouts. If your plate is issued to a human they can be reasonable certain it's you or someone from your household that's driving it. This can be used for all sorts of things, mostly not to your benefit.

Yeah, no thanks. Sneaky way for Whitmer to get more money to "fix the damn roads:"

https://www.michigan.gov/sos/vehicle/license-plates/legacy-plate-options

"Road fee fund" on the application page of SOS:

https://www.michigan.gov/sos/-/medi...c8cf60c&hash=F56854CB9009635E8DD54DAB4D293373

The " Semi-quincentennial " ( red/white/blue , '76 , stars & stripes nickname, etc ) plate available in 2026 will probably be a big hit though - seems like all of the older ones demand a premium among collectors out there.

I didn't know there was a market for the bicentenial plates. I have a box full of them.

I used the on line "is it available" and put in THX 138, but it said you can not use a combo of three letters followed by three numbers.
