walther p22, any good

Friend of a friend has a threaded barrel walther p22, nice condition, low round count. I can probably get for $200. I have never shot one and was thinking a 22 semi pistol would be fun. How good and nice are these to shoot. Is it worth it or put the money towards a better shooter??

I had one, it was a decent shooter. It was VERY picky on ammo though. Cci mini mags were the only Bullet mine really liked.

x2, extremely picky on ammo. Got rid of mine because I couldn't go more than one magazine without malfunctions.

riche, If you don't get the walther p22, I would recommend looking at a older
Ruger Mark II 22 semi-auto. Everyone I know who has one love theirs.

for $200 i'd grab it. I have two, they both shoot well if they are kept very clean.
