VIN Check??

Hi Guys,

Getting serious about a late 60's Mustang for sale from a private guy. I don't suspect anything but, would like someway to run the VIN to make sure it's not stolen. CARFAX is no help since they need a 17 digit VIN and that didn't come to be until 1981. Any way to check this out...DMV,cops,ect?? Any ideas?

I'm guessing it doesn't come with a title. Call the Sec of State see what they can do.
