vdo with gm vss

I recently purchased a VDO-437053 SPEEDOMETER and i intended on installing it to work with a 4t45e vss sensor... is it possible to take the vdo gauge wires (two wires) and directly connect it to thr gm vss using the vss's pigtail? I am using that 45e in a obd1 car so theres no pcm or tcm just a ecm and to calibrate it is not simple... so just to clarify, can the vss sensor be used directly with the vdo gauge without buffer or transmitter? If yes or no please explain.
 
I tried direct connecting it, but it doesnt work... anyone know the ppm? I entered 024000 whi h should be it, is that the right number? .... if i have 215/55/16 and want to enter a "custom " cal, what would be the # I'd want to enter?
