Valve cover repair

Has anyone ever had a Valve cover rail repaired. I had been chasing a problem of not being able to pull any vacuum from my motor and found out yesterday that one of the rails on my valve covers is warped. Its an aluminum valve cover. I am thinking maybe it can be welded the milled down flat. I will post pictues later of the warped rail.

if a thick rail, mill it flat, if not too thick, weld it up and mill flat, should be fine, and are you using a good gasket? plain old cork is not the best for trying to pull vacuum

Yes I have a good gasket. I swapped on some covers I had got for my sons car and everthing is fine. But I want to put those on his car.
