There is a car for sale by me in Eastpointe (Forest and Grove) that I stumbled upon while riding my bike the other day. It's an early 90's Volvo 740. I was checking the car out when I noticed that they swapped in a SBF 302! It was up for $2300 too!

If I had the money I would definitely buy it. Looked like a pretty clean car for the most part, and not something you'd see everyday. Maybe swap out the 302 for an LS1??

That car has been up for sale for a while. The previous owner picked it up in trade for some work on a house.

I am not sure if he still has it or if the new owner is selling it. It did not have hood scoops as far as I can recall so those might be a new addition.

If it started life as a Diesel, it should have larger sway bars and some different springs which is what you want in a V8 swap. If it was a non-turbo model I would do some minor upgrades to suspension to remove the boat feel and keep it planted. Turbo models had a slightly larger sway bar up front and out back i believe there was no change.

None of these ever came with a 5.0 or any V8. The converse engineering kit was popular [but has its issues] and JTR did a Chevy V8 kit. These came with a 2.3L non-turbo / 2.3L turbo / later models 89-90 had the option of a naturally aspirated 16V 2.3L.

The TT LS1 in Dougs wagon is very well done with supporting work to the rest of the chassis.

There are a number of them running in the area with SBCs/SBFs in them. A guy over in Detroit has completed a few swaps for people, and had two personal vehicles [a silver sedan and a white wagon] with the SBCs in them, and there is/was a Ford 302 swapped graphite sedan in the Troy area.
