Hey all, I thought I'd post our project here. The project took off a couple years ago when we picked up two fastback 1968 Torinos. We have been collecting parts for the last year or so and have been working steadily on the fabrication over the last 6 months. The intent is to update them with the latest technology while maintaining the stock feel of the original classic.

Each car will receive a similar treatment of an SN95 based architecture. Suspension will be coilover front and rear for road course tuning. An all Al 4.6L 4v engine will be shoe-horned into the engine bay backed by a bullet proof T56. The rear end will be an IRS from a 99-04 Cobra. We have made our selections based on road course performance, not straight 1/4 mile times. Wondering what everyone thinks and hoping to answer your questions.

I've always liked the style of these cars, don't understand why they go so cheap compared to similar muscle cars.... Back in '75 my bro bought a '69 428 CJ 4 spd for $700!! Well worn & still DAMN fast!
Do whatever you want with them, just have fun & drive 'em when you're done!

Torino's go Roushcharged!!!

We have recently changed our powerplant plans to use a 4.6L 2V Roush Stage III. It barely fits with stock hood clearance which was a necessity since we dont want to change the appearance of the stock hood.

I've actually talked to the other member of this project, SVT4Me on here and met him at the Torino bash att he beach last year.

What made you guys go from the 4V's to the Roush 2V's? I was looking forward to seeing you guys find a way to make the MAch Shakers work on the Torino.

Others posting know about my stuff but I'm working on putting a 4V motor and T-56 in the car in my sig. Well, the motor is in the car, I just need to wire it, sump tank, plumb, trans cross member, etc., etc., etc. ...

2V vs 4V

We came across the 2nd motor recently for a good price, we couldnt pass it up. We thought it was pretty unlikely to come across two of these motors, so it seemed like a natural application. The supercharger will give us alot more power for the buck; When we started to add up the cost of what it would take to get the 4V up to +400hp, we opted out in favor of the 2V. The supercharger just barely fits under the hood.

It's been a while since the last post, but here is the car currently.

The SN95 front suspension is in, the rear IRS is mounted, and the motor and transmission have been slung into position. Alot of hard work to get to this point, we should be close to firing at the end of summer, stay tuned.
