Turbo guys. Breather/ Catch can issues.

I talked with 2001-ws6 once about this and I want some more opinions.

I have oil in my intake, only running about 20 psi.

It runs from

TB----->Catch can----->PCV is in one side of valve cover---->other side of valve cover is the breather, but the breather is hosed below my car because it blows oil everywhere.

Now why is it blowing and sucking oil?

I assume it blows oil under boost but why? Isnt that what the pcv valve is for?

I dont even know if my CC is working properly because I have oil in my intake. What are good/proven catch cans?

Thanks for any info!

pcv will only work under vacuum
rick and other use the breather so during boost or wot (no vacuum) the crankcase pressure has a place to go

Rick and I both have AMW catch cans

What oil are you using?

You only need a catch can for the PCV... Cap the TB end... and Cap the other side of Valve Cover

Also switch to 20-50w M1

Do NOT cap the Valve Cover. Adam, let me take a look at it, I'll tell you what's wrong.

Yeah you don't want to cap the valve cover. When I was getting oil in the intake and piping it was from the seals in the turbo being toast.

That thisck ass oil just robs power. You should need anything over a 10w40.

The oil helps reduces blow by, by forming a better seal around the rings... The thicker the oil the more it reduces... That's why greddy came out with a 20-60w oil for the stupid huge turbo guys...

I am not saying cap the valve cover completely... I am saying cap the far right side of the valve cover and let PCV side use the catch can... Multiple Big Turbo SRT's do this...

He doesn't need to also let the TB goto the catch can... What's the point the only oil worries he would have is from the PCV side... The TB is only going to leak out boost when he gets on it...

so what oil should you run in a turbo car then? my car usually uses 5w20?
10w60 or 20w50... It will help seal the rings better and help with less blow by... Less blow by less crank case pressure...

I use Amsoil 5w40 i believe. It's their European formula for turbocharged vehicles. No complaints at all with it.
