So I am in the process of gathering funds to do something to my truck. I want to get it tuned, for many reasons actually. It doesnt have cats, no rear o2's, so i have this nice SES light on every time i drive my truck.... pretty annoying. The truck just has bolt ons.... intake, headers, no cats, flowmaster. I just want a little more out of my truck since i dont really have any major mods on it.
Now im pondering on a few things. I keep asking myself if i should just go with a mail order tune. I know, i know.... mail order tunes suck. But what is the difference from a shop downloading a tune onto your truck and doing barely any tweeking?? Now, I dont know if this would really happen or if the tuner would do an extensive tune on my truck. But could a mail order from someone who does lsx based trucks day in and day out have an advantage over a tuner who does everything?? I read over on a truck forum and there are sponsored tuners just like here who these guys swear buy.... so it gets me asking which would be better. I know that Vector does GM vehicles but i keep reading mixed reviews and yada yada.... they are still in my mind for the tune. The next closest place would be Livernois, they are a sponsor on here and i read good reviews about them..... so i dont know exactly where i want to go with it yet. Opinions????
