How loud are these? I had a electric when I was younger. I want to get my son a real remote control car but he is only 4 and I would have to use this with him which is fine.

X1000 Look into the 1/16 scale for your 4 year old. It's what i'm gonna do next summer for my 4 yr old.

Warmed it up all day in the garage and then took it out for a quick run. First time I ever drove a nitro car and wow!
Lubed it up and put it away it should be a fun spring toy.
