reverse not holding?
reverse is fine, you dont need the brake to put it in rev.
you did not say what type of transmission, but depending on the trans, it sounds like the direct friction are bad.
id tighten the bands up a lil bit. ive done this before and it fixxed the problem. just tightened both of them up about a 1/2 turn
It will not help at all.
front band is applied in second gear only....
rear band does apply in manual low with the brake on and reverse, but in manual low the low roller is locked, all the band apply does is assist in holding the low roller, which when both are applied, allow the vehicle to move forward.
The application of the direct clutch keeps the car from rolling forward. When the transbrake is released, it releases the direct clutch, and slowly releases the low band.
Larger hp cars have limited life on direct friction. Bring it by when your ready.
do you remember the brand of transbrake? ( I dont)...poorly constructed solenoids stop working when hot.
Will only work in 1st gear. Maybe you had it in 2nd gear?:headscrat

i think it is a p.a.
If it's an old one i would contact PA. They upgraded my VB for free when i had problems with my AOD trans brake. They said when they first started building the manual VB's for the AODs they used crappy solenoids. They upgraded mine to the better stuff when i sent it back to them for an unrelated issue.
