Looking to see what everyone is running on the street for a stall? Looking for cars that are at or around 450-600 RWHP opinions. I don't want to under stall or over stall the car but want decent drivability as well. I have been looking and reading about this for a while now and before I order want to see what everyone else says.

On m combo that was shifted at 7000rpm:

5000 was driveable with a powerglide.. it flashed way to high with a 200 shot. Lots of noise, crappy ET,

3000 sucked with a powerglide... Lost 1 second of ET at the track, really hard to do burnouts.. Sprayed it AGAINST the transbrake for pretty good results....haha

4500 was the cats ass. Best ET on motor AND on spray (200 shot)..

They all drove fine.. you could ease up into traffic without going over 2500rpm if you wanted..

My new junkyard combo can stall 3000 on the footbrake and have full boost 10ft off the line. drives very nice...shifts at 6600.

in the LS1 world, a Yank 4000 is where its at. Drives great, launches like a beast.

Goodluck!

I have a 450HP at the flywheel from my SBC 386 stroker. I am running a PRO-Edge 3600. No driveability issues & getting 17 on the highway running 3.73 gears an 4L60E.

You really need to match the converter to your cam. Check the cam card that came with the cam or call the manufacturer. Most cams will recommend a stall speed. Look to where the cam starts to make power. You want to be in that range or a little above.
And to answer your question:

13:1 Compression 0.060 over small block chevy - Gigantic cam & a th400, 4000 RPM stall converter.

mine is 500hp at the wheels and i've got a 3500 stall.i had a 5500 before this one.i prefer the 3500 because i drive it on the street and not the strip.
