Pretty much went as expected. I did not/could not leave the line hard, so I left off the footbrake at half throttle, went out 60' or so, then went WOT to the 1/8 mile, then backed off to half throttle the rest of the way. This is no 7 second beast, but remember, it's a Jeep, and the videos don't show the full potential.
60's were a pathetic 1.7, so when I say baby launch, I mean it! And yes, I redlight on both passes. What can I say, I was nervous!

Yes. Footbrake half throttle launches to about the 60' or so mark. I do not think the current rearend will take a full on transbrake/NOS launch, so I was just trying things out. After the 1/8 mile I let out to half throttle or so. Enough to disengage the nitrous, but not let off completely. Letting off completely at 110ish with a high center short wheelbase is not good at all. I've learned that almost the hard way in the sand.

Ill say and that 60ft didnt look that slow either

All my passes were in the 1.71 to mid 1.7 60's. It just looks quicker because I redlight on every pass :banghead:

SBC with a single plate system. Another reason for the crappy launches. Everything is setup for spray, so a soft N/A launch sucks.
 
Doing that in a CJ5 takes some big balls. I used to do some racing in my 401 swapped CJ7 and it was hairy even with the longer wheelbase
 
:roll: @ the guys in the stands in the first video. It definitely looks like it pulls the drivers front tire on the 1-2 shift.

And I second CJMatt's statement. That definitely takes some balls in a cj5.
 
I was at the track, that jeep was just nasty. The wheelie bar came off pretty fast. Like said takes some big balls to go that fast in a Jeep.

Yea, that was stupidity on my part. I was there a couple weekends ago and all it would do is lift the front when I went WOT. We have that wheelie bar for the sand tracks, but it sits quite high (works well in the sand like that). I had some longer top bars made for it so I could set it lower. Well, I ended up having them too long, and could only get the wheel about 3-4" off the ground. When I would go WOT, it would unload the rear tires because the wheelie bar.
What were you driving?
And I don't know about big balls, more like stupidity!

He was there watching me. I was running the silver z06 with the black wheels. I was there a couple of weeks ago when you were running too. That thing is awesome. I came by your trailer a couple of weeks ago I was going to ask you what was in it but you looked busy with your kid so I just walked by.

Can't see the vids here at work but adding it up, the crazy fast jeep, and 02RedWS6TA with the silver Z06, this must have been out at Stanton on the 23rd. I also saw the jeep and watched in awe. Also raced the Z06 (beat ya to the stripe on account of sleeping on the line DOH) and have video but no host site to post it. Both bad ass!
 
How fast did you end up running with the Z06? Badass car BTW.

One of the guys from where I work was there watching taking the videos. I believe your car is on one of them. I'll put it on youtube and post it.
 
With the 115mph trap I saw when we raced I would be surprised if he didn't get into the 11's!

Cool, hopefully it's one earlier in the day before the track went to crap as did my clutch and clutches in the diff!
