Tire pressure

What tire pressure are you guys running with drag radials? Or is that just experimentation.

You will have to tweak to find the sweet spot for the way your specific car is setup and track conditions. But I would start around 18psi (hot).

18psi is a good number for the track. You may have to adjust depending on how the car hooks or how much power you are trying to put down

Well, I started with 26psi. I definitely still got tire spin but probably about 50% less. Definitely a lot less spin in 2nd gear. They are nitto extreme drag. 275/45/17. Now i have a 0-60 machine instead of a 40-100mph machine! I'll drop it to 18psi today if the weather holds.

I have a set of m/t drag radials, I've run them at 18 psi ever since I've had them. Never had any handing problems at all.

Thanks. I will go with 18psi then. Considering I have the same exact car, color too! What rpm are you launching at?

I'm launching right around 4k. I'm running a 302 with heads cam and a 125 shot out of the hole. Stock T-5 tranny. It's a pretty consistent 11.6 at around 125. The 60 foots suck at a 2.1 or worse.

My car-410gears 325/50/15 MTdr's complete team Z suspension 12-15 psi. Every car is going to have a different G/sweet spot.

M&H 275/45/18. I run about 18psi at the strip. I have not used them on the street but M&H suggested 28 psi for street use. As has been stated here adjust to what makes her happy.

I have the nitto 555R extreme drag on the rear. I need new front tires. I want to get maximum braking. They have a nt555 for the front but I see they have a nt05 also that is stickier. Can I run the nt05 front with the 555R rear or should I run the matching set. I never drive in rain. ....1mean85GT;I just switched from a 3:73 to a 4:10 and it woke my car up, love it. But traction definitely got worse.

NT05 is a great tire, i had them before and loved them. I just priced out a set for my current wheels yesterday, along with some NT05R drag radials.
