Tire Help

from others experience what are the best tires for summer, im looking for something that is reasonably priced, good for daily driving (dont wear after 10K miles), and hook up when needed. last summer I ran on the kumho ecsta spt "z" rated and they seemed to work good but ill need something new for this summer, also i was thinking of just doing something like a street drag radial on the fronts and then just something like i had on the backs. Any suggestions

For your car, I like the Kuhmo Ecsta MX's. Really good dry handling and decent lifespan. Wet handling leaves a little to be desired but hey, you can't win em all. No street tires is going to hook like a drag radial, no drag radial is going to wear like a street tire. I'd say invest in some time learning to drive your car and get out of the hole with a little throttle modulation, and you'll be perfect.

I don't like the t1r's as much as the old t1's. Under really hard cornering I found the r's sidewall to not be as stiff as the s'. Plus, they are a little on the pricey side. If I am going to spend that much on a tire it's going to be on a Mickey Thompson for the '65 or a dedicated race tire for my spare set of wheels.
