Tire advice?

I need to put some new tires on the wifes trailblazer ss before the snow hits. I'd rather not put another set of the crappy goodyears on it. I've looked around online. Anyone have any opinions on a good all season tire? The truck is going to see snow.

2WD or AWD? If its 2WD its going to be shitty with any all season in the snow. I prefer Michelin myself. They are expensive but they last forever.

AWD, will definitely check out the sponsors also but wanted to get some input from other tbss owners

To be honest with AWD, just about any all season you put on it will do fine in the snow. I would go to www.tirerack.com and check out the most popular tires with good reviews. Most likely if you put in the stock size for your truck youll find reviews from other TBSS owners. Then check with Ryelou or Jenga for prices because they can probably beat tirerack.

The stock goodyears hardly had any grip in even a couple inches of snow last year so I'm looking to avoid that. I've googled the tire size and trailblazer ss tires. Some owners have gone with 275/45 which is close in height to the 255/50. I've seen a lot of good reviews on the yokahoma parada spec-x tire, some coming from jeep srt8 owners. The tire is also priced good, around 150 a piece

if it has a 255/50 on it now DO NOT put a 275/45 on it for the winter!!! a wider tire rides on top of the snow (like a snow shoe) and will get just as bad traction at a street tire. personally id go with some Michellins. i have only heard good things about them in the many years i changed tires and the many years i worked at lexus and benz.. (you CAN actually feel a difference driving on them in a 2wd sports car)
if they are just snow tires go narrow, like a 245, 235 or something like that with a taller sidewall 55 or 66 series, im not sure what is an exact option though.

If he got actual "SNOW TIRES" I dont think the difference from 255/50 and 275/45 would matter. AWD+ any kind of snow tire should be a monster in the snow. I can't believe it slid around like it did on street tires before. Obviously it will slide left and right, but it shouldn't have a problem taking off in the snow if your driving it reasonably. My FWD sedan felt like it was on rails in 5 inches of snow with Firestone Winterforces on it, and they were bigger than stock size.

I dont know if they come in your size...but Hankook Ventus RH06 are nice tires....do decent in the snow in a 2wd f-150 with 275/45/20's

Honestly the best truck tires I have ever had were BFG all terrain TA's.....The have a very agressive look, they are great on ALL terrains....Ride very well on the street. If I ever got a truck again, I would go with these tires right away!!

Ehhh edit...Just notices its an "SS"....This is not the right tire forf the SS, too off road looking for the SS.......Yea I would ust talk to out Belle Tire sponsors.....

I would suggest BF Goodrich all terrain tko's best tire in the world. a little expensive but damn they last forever my last set lasted me almost 9 years on my daily driver. I have them on both my 4wd Jimmy, and my Jeep. will never buy another brand again.

The top rated truck tire is the Michelin LTX.

I've had them before & they are simply the
best & worth every penny.

Goodyears, I have seen with 20-25k miles and are done. BFGs on the other hand, I have seen go 70k miles and over 7 years.

I daily drive a 2wd 07 TBSS and this will be its 5th Michigan winter. I was in the same boat last year at this time and after allot of research and testimonials on the SS forums I ended up scrapping the stock Goodyear’s for a set of General Grabber UHP's (275/45/20). The summer/winter-traction/handling is much improved over the Goodyear’s and for the price, I would buy another set.

I don't know if they'd fit the look of the truck since it's an SS, but we've had several sets of these and they are just fantastic tires all around.

They are definitely the best looking truck/SUV tire, IMO.

If you ever feel like trying a different tire, try one of these.
