2003 with the 5.3
Loaded and clean with 110k....
What should I look out for?
Are they worth 11-12-13k or less? kellyBB says about 9.5-10k for private party...
I found one I am interested in, but buying a vehicle with that many miles scares me a bit.....
My GMT800 Sierra pickup (2000) has 225K on the 5.3l motor without issues. If it is clean and appears to be properly maintained I wouldn't hesitate.
No idea on the price.
If you feel like it, I'm gonna go look around tomorrow a bit.... Just trying to find somthing I wont need to finance, or only a tiny bit....
They want 12,900 for it, obviously I'm gonna try to get em down from there.....
I'll Call ya tomorrow and see when is good for you.... I'm heading out for the night....
Look for a leaking rear seal or leaks from the back cover of the transfercase. Very common. Looking at the rear of the t-case, around 1 o'clock, the pump pokes a hole in the casting from inside. The leak slowly...until they are dry.
Rear seal/bushing/slip yoke go bad often.
Trans usally takes a dump around 120k
I would throw the insult offer of 10k at them ( close to wholesale), then move from there. I thought Z71 was its own trim line on the tahoe? All the ones I just looked at just said Z71 (no LS or LT).

I got 150k on my 5.3 00 yukon slt. trans was rebuilt by the previous owner but runs like a champ, have some piston slap when you start it from a cold start but it bits still fine
I was looking at wranglers, and specificly an 06 rubicon with 65k on it for 17k but I dont thik i really wanna spend that much right now......
So I'm gonna have someone who's a lil more mechanicly inclined check out the Tahoe with me and let me know...
