I would love to have a car like this and the price seems right. It's a sharp looking car. Too bad I don't have a truck, trailer or garage space. Maybe I could get the wife to go for it as her toy since it is an automatic? :dontknow:

meh I could have less than 25k into my car totally, go faster and be more streetable mostlikely. Might not look as good but, who needs to look good when you are going fast. :D

I always find it interesting that a project always finishes and has 2000 miles on it then goes up for sale.
 
Excuse my ignorance but is "over $80K invested" even possible with what he has into the car?

I mean, say he bought the car brand new (highly unlikely!!!) and he was taking that price into account in the $80k. That would be like what...$32k...tops?!?!?! Does the rest of that shit add up to $48k?!?!? I don't see it. If it does, he paid list + some for everything and got fucking ripped!!!!

$25,000 doesn't seem too crazy for that car.

The thing made 750whp on 10-11psi on 20 witch is what its at now should be around 1000.

Well The motor pro. built top tp bottom was probally like 10+ take the procharger head unit a f1r runs close to 4 grand for that alone no piping or anything look at the cage, theres probally close to 20k right there if that stuff was installed professionaly. Id say he might have 25-30 in it plus the money to buy it maybe like 60k total.

Right, and you're talking MAX numbers. $20,000 difference, on already stretched numbers is a LOT! I'd love to see an itemized list of his mods to see where this $80,000 figure comes from.
 
I just noticed on page 2 of the LS1TECH page he said the "$80,000 invested" was NOT including the price of the car.

billet crank 3000+
pistons 1000ish
block no clue lets say 1000
machine work 1500 or so
ported heads 1000+
valvetrain and cams 1500 or more
twin intercooler 2500 with piping if its procharger stuff
F1r 4000
fuel system weld on probally close to 2000
meth injection 500
trans 2k
9inch for a fbody i think is like 2500
moly cage painted some places cage close to 2000 for that stuff
install off motor trans and blower prob 3000

I got 28500 right there not sure if thats a whole new paint job or just the front flames but that could be close to 8k id think if he went to a expensive place and used hok paint. I have no suspenion stuff added into this either.

Which still leaves $51,500...for paint and misc. Damn, that car must wash, wax, and polish, itself and also blow you, massage your back, cook you meals, and whisper sweet nothings in your ear. :lol: :roll: And he did mention that the car was a complete repaint.

Oh well, he's selling it for $25,000. So...yeah.

If you read his thread the whole car was repainted thats was probally 12k+ full color change. He didnt do any work him self so theres probally another 3k there and it has a suspension no clue what and how much f body stuff cost but add that to a lets say 35k car ... thats close to 75k hes off by like 10k still but who knows what he paid for some of the stuff. Plus you always mark stuff higher to make it seem worth more.

almost everything was prof. done at a turbo/blower shop

at least you reminded me, I have a ton of reciepts that go with this sweet car

i recently purchased this car from a longtime friend, who bought this car new. he ran into some money problems and i didnt want to let this car get away, i've been around this car since Day 1. We are going to hate to see this car sell!!

Most likely if he's tossing out that kind of number he's taking about all the variations the car has gone through since he bought it and not current build cost to make the same car from scratch on the first pass.

Then again, I don't know any thing about custom paint because I have two kids that play in my garage hahaha. :)

All correct 2 things, the blower twincooler and piping is around 7k if your running a f1r like him, the short block of that motor alone is well around 9k with machine work.

Car wasn't purchased new. He bought it used from a friend.

Hes says in the thread that includes price of car, dosnt state used or new but i assume he means with the car being used since he says there is a total 80k in it not that he put 80k in it. None the less with that car that low millage stock he would have paid 20k for it if he bought it 2yrs ago.
