Thinking bout getting back in the toy car game

Dude, that is BAD ASS!! You can make a 292 run really well, I'm gonna be building one for my buddy's 51 Chevy this fall.

I raced in the 'Super 6' division at Mt Clemens for a few years. Everyone ran the 292 Chev and they were fast. The hot set-up in those days was the cross flow head - Meaning the intake was on one side and the exhaust was on the other, rather than both of them being on the same side. I think we ran about 14:1 compression...

CTSV-Sport is a nice ride. Not an LSA, but it moves extremely well, and still knock down 27-38mpg highway. I took a road trip in one 3 years ago, loved every minute of it.

When was the last time you saw a fox body on the street? Fuck getting old sucks

I still see them pretty regularly. That era Camaro and Firebird are rare, though!

ok... Wisconsin might be a bit far ... and you want a sleeper ...ok... how about this one

That is pretty awesome. I showed it to my wife and she didn' t seem to be impressed. Haha. No worries, though. Whatever I get won't need her stamp of approval.

I have a black CTS-V wagon with yellow calipers as my wallpaper. That would be perfect but I wonder what it takes to import that? Definitely a bit far away.

If you want anything vintage let me know. My brother does muscle cars as a main job.
He either has what you want or knows where one is. He loves the oddball stuff too.
Thanks for letting me know! I'll keep that in mind. I am definitely a hard lean toward the CTS-V Sport but I went to a car show last week and it got me thinking about the classics again.

Sooo.... I haven't really had a "toy" car in a while. I'm debating if I want to get another one. I was really wanting a Cadillac CTS-V wagon (stick preferably) but those things are holding their value ridiculously well and I can't see paying $55k for a 5 year old used car even if it is likely a future collectible. I've always leaned toward the oddballs and/or sleepers so right now I'm considering these options:

1) Cadillac CTS V-sport - twin turbo V6 fun that I can daily drive year round if I buy winter tires for it.
2) GMC Syclone - I have wanted one of these for forever and the prices aren't too crazy. Looks like you can pick a decent one up for upper teens, low twentys. I'd have to do some research here to know what to look out for and also, it means I still need a DD that I'd be scraping snow off all winter. AS I've gotten older I've realized I like my spot in the garage.
3) A nice classic car of some kind. I'm not sure what but I tend to like the odd balls so it's probably not going to be something as common as a Camaro, Trans Am or Mustang. Maybe some funky AMC product? Rambler Scrambler? Rebel Machine? A Chevelle Laguna S3? 66-67 Chevy/Buick/Olds almost anything? Wildcat maybe? Some mid-70's unloved oddball but with a decent engine in it rather that the 160 hp 455 big block it came with?
4) Crazy idea car - Vega, Chevette or Monza with a modern turbo 4 banger? This will never happen because i don't have the skills to do the swap myself but it would be a pretty sweet oddball.

Option 1 is the one most likely to become reality. You can pick one up still under warranty for 30 -35K. Option 2 is the one I most want (aside from the CTS-V wagon I'll never buy) but there is no room for the kids and I've never taken the same liking to the Typhoon that I have the Syclone. Option 3 is the long shot possibility. I've always loved classic cars and would love to have my 66 Chevelle back or a nice 66-67 Nova but for the most part the prices of those cars have moved outside what I am willing to spend and I've sadly become accustomed to certain creature comforts most of these cars will lack. Option 4 has exactly a 0% chance of happening but is fun to think about because not too many people would be dumb enough to actually do it (apparently including me).

What do you guys think?
I know a guy that is wanting to sell a '78 G body....

I thought you sold that years ago! I always thought that was a very clean looking car. It's probably not what I am after but shoot me a PM with the details just in case. You never know. :D

Whatever that was, it is already gone. CTS-V wagon?

It was a manual wagon with 28k miles for $45k

To the OP- you are in luck!!! I know a guy who's selling a SWEET 1970 Imperial. Custom metalflake paint, completely rebuilt mechanically, runs great. Now, it may not be fast or able to take a turn at more than an idle, but it's a pimp ride!!

WHAT ????? Your selling the PimpIerial ?????
