the title, and the calypso notch...

Last year I bought a car I found on here. It is a junker parts car, so it wasn’t a whole lot of $$$.
Guy I got it from had the title signed from someone he got it from.
But, he doesn't know who he got it from after I checked with him.

This past weekend I got rid of the car to another guy.
When giving him the title, I notice the signature is pretty faded.
It is there, but really not very visible unless you look close.

Since this car seems to have been around, like a record, I’m wondering if there is a way I can find the person who belongs to the name on the title. I don’t want to post up names just in case they’re not cool with that.
No issues, I just want to make sure the guy I gave the car to is able to get rid of it when he is ready.
Which may mean having the name on the title sign off again someway/somehow…

you can send the VIN to the SOS and they will tell you who the current registered owner is.

Just push it off a trailer on any random sidestreet

Gotcha, thanks for the info.
I'll try and look the guy up by the name on the title and contact him.

Consider searching the name on those social networking sites. Like facebook, myspace, ashley madison, backpage, pof, tinder, gumtree, twitter, craigslist personals... etc etc?

If you do this be careful. Tittle Jumping is illegal.
They won't even transfer it. Been down this road. SOS wants their $$$ from each owner. They will go after the previous person too.

I ended up calling the seller, he said not his issues. I said if he didn't transfer and then give to me I'd list all his info. I think he thought I was BSing. I filled out the special form and as I thought soon after the seller called me pissed off.

yeah, I did that yesterday, I'll have to see if he responds.

Not sure how SOS can go after any previous owner? I have the title, or had...The original name on is is about 3 guys back now. Who has any record of those 3? I could give up the guy I got it from, but whats that going to do for me? Not much I dont think except just piss someone off...

We'll see what happens, I'm not really worried about it now.
As mentioned, the title is signed, its just very faded.
Readable if you look hard, it should be fine.
