the new JEEP Cherokee.. i got questions ??

my wife would like to buy one, im trying to find a slightly used one. anybody own one? what are your thoughts, opinions? anything i should look out for? how to they compare to other midsize SUVs?
 
I had one for a few weeks as a rental while my Charger was in the shop. I wasn't impressed. I had a 4 banger Latitude 4 wd. It was small. Very small. Underpowered. The trans was weird. It was an 8 speed auto. When you stepped on it from a roll the delay while it downshifted 5 gears sucked.

Just for reference every daily driver i've had in the last 15 years has been a v8. Jeep GC, TBSS, Sierra, Yukon Denali, Durango.

The whole small SUV thing isn't for me, so I may be a little biased...lol
 
Get the V6, and if you've not experience 'Stop/Start', it takes time getting used to it. But a GC it isn't.
 
Girlfriends dad has one. it was a first year model but they have had a ton of issues with the transmission solenoids. They have been replaced 4 or 5 times, and they have under 25000 miles on it.
 
yeah i would be careful with trans issues. guy i worked with today said his trans shifts extremely hard in the morning and has issues with it shifting very erratically throughout the day. his has about 50k miles
