Announcement is expected tomorrow. We already know what iOS 6 has (http://www.apple.com/ios/ios6/) in it, so the question just remains about what it will look like and what benchmark stats it will have.
Rumors state a larger screen. It's hard to believe that it won't have a larger screen. The size though will be what's questionable. My guess is a 4.2 inch screen. It'll be retina as I highly doubt they will release any type of new display, though it's possible. A retina display that large will do one of two things. Increase weight due to a much larger battery, or it will be the same'ish weight and suffer from battery drain issues. There's already enough complaints that the 4s has battery drain issues, so I lean more toward it being heavier. Not a ton heavier, but noticeably enough.
Dual or quad core. In the mobile computing world, this stat is almost completely useless. Especially in the Apple world. Until Apple sunsets all of their single core devices app developers will have to program exclusively for single core devices. This is true across all phone makes/models. A quad core is a cool stat and maybe it makes the phone run a little quicker, but it's a massively useless battery drain. Once single core devices are no longer supported, dual/quad core devices will become useful.
Camera. Lots of rumors that because of all the nifty gadgets Samsung crammed into their camera that Apple will try to one up them in this area. It's highly likely we will see a big step up in what the camera can do. Usefullness will be determined by the end user. I personally only use one new feature out of all of them in the S3's list. The ability to snap a picture while taking video.
Passbook. We know that iOS6 will have passbook. It's a very cool feature that eliminates a lot of applications like keyring etc... The problem is that as useful as it can be, it won't be. The scanners needed to work with a phone are extremely expensive and very rare to find out in the real world. Once those scanners become a reality, Passbook will become useful. Till then it's a useless waste of space unless you happen to stumble on the one in 10,000 places that have the scanners.
Maps. Apple finally caught up to the modern era and is including gps in their OS. As for Apple doing their own maps. Who knows how well that will turn out. Google does a damn good job and I find it hard to believe Apple will find a way to do it better.
Photo Stream. I don't take a ton of pictures, but my wife does. This appears to be similar to what Samsung has released allowing you to share photos with other S3 devices instantly with the touch of a button. The difference is that Apple will let you share with other devices if you so desire. Granted it's a web link that gets sent, it's still more useable than what Samsung currently has on the S3.
NFC. Lots of rumors that Apple will release something similar to Google Wallet. NFC is a fairly unused very valuable tool. No specifics really yet, but lots of talk that it will mimic Google Wallet. No word either on if NFC tags will be useable with the new iPhone. It's very usefu and helpful in other devices that have it, so I can't imagine that they won't utilize it to some extent.
That sums up the rumors and known facts about it. We'll see what actually gets released.
