so listen to what i've been dealing with for the past day.. its pretty fucked up... I'll give you some background on the situation real quick....

my roommate used to work for my dads bar, he met his ex gf there who was waitressing at the time. They dated on and off for almost a year. BUT this girl was nutty. constantly they'd get in fights, and i mean real fights. She'd put cigarettes out on him, scratch him and hit him and normally he'd push her away or whatever, but near the end it got to the point where she did it one time and he hit her back.. Well, this girl is a cutter and has cut herself bad on a few occasions when they'd get in arguments. I banned her from my house after they got in a fight and she walked in the kitchen, grabbed one of my knives and cut her leg open. The police had to come pick her up and take her to the hospital to get stitches.. that was it for me..

This girl was addicted to pain killers and other perscription drugs (she also stole about 60k from her parents to support the habit), and my roommate took them from her and was like i'll give you your medicine in the doses you're supposed to take it so you cant abuse it. She agreed, but then a few days later calls the police on him because he wont give her more than shes supposed to take. She comes to the house (which i previously banned her from) and brings the police and whatnot, so im like like listen, this girl is a danger to herself and i dont want her anywhere near my property ever again. So they warn her and settle the situation with her medicine.. Well my roommate is like fuck it, i tried to help her and this and that but i give up. She'd call him 10-15 times a day and leave him voicemails with random crazy shit. So he just cut ties with her.. (shes bene in and out of the loony bin a few times as well)

Well, last night we get a call and come to find out she killed herself yesterday by taking a whole bottle of pills. So my roomate is a mess, hasnt stopped drinking since yesterday, and i feel really bad for the girls family as well.. i mean how fucked up. Long story short, don't attach yourself to people who are self destructive. All thats gonna happen is you're gonna get sucked in and most likely wont be able to help. Then when you give up they are gonna try and keep you around by threatening to hurt themselves. Ahhh life sure can be fucked up.. my thoughts go out to her family and my roommate... sigh

just make sure your friend knows that it had nothing to do with him. someone like that chick is going to look for any reason they can to be unhappy. he was just unlucky.
 
You have to make your friend understand that he did all that he could do and that the chick was just fucked up!!!
 
She wasent mentaly stable, how can your roommate blame himself?

thats like blaming yourself for the weather.
 
yeah i know.. he says he doesnt feel responsible.. but i half feel like he's just saying that.. He got a dui about a month and a half ago so he hasnt drank since then.... up until yesterday.. and his dad is an alchy (my roomate has the tendancy to not stop drinking once he starts too).. so im kinda hanging around babysitting him until either my other roommate is here or someone else comes to keep him company..

People like that leave a trail of carnage everywhere they go. It's sad, but some people you really can't help. My heart goes out to the family of the deceased.
 
I think in that case, only she could have got the help she needed, theres nothing her family or your friend could have done, its inevitable and tragic. Sorry to hear it.
 
Whenever I am around someone like that I skirt skirt out of there, I dont want to be around if something like that was to happen. I dont date chicks that drink alot or do drugs alot, or say I only had to drive 5 miles. FUCK THAT I am not gonna be around when you kill someone or yourself or hurt someone real bad, you are an idiot and need to grow up and get responsibilities....................wow um sorry about the rant, I guess thats a good explination why I dont do anything like drugs or drink. :ohwell:

I agree he did all he could. Can't help someone who won't help themselves.
