A guy I work with want to swap from his TH350 TO A 700R4. What parts are interchangable?? Car has a mild BBC in it. Its just a street cruiser.

Any other options? he is looking for overdrive.

let me know if he is looking for any parts ryan i have a few 700r4's and a really nice tci convertor to go with them

When I did mine since the yoke was interchangeable, all I had to do was have them shorten the d/s. That saved some bucks. On my setup (pickup) I just moved the crossmember back a little as well. Super easy swap all in all.

Nothing will interchange directly except for the output shat yoke on the driveshaft.

If he is going from a 350, why not swap to a 2004r ? The 350 to 2004r swap was designed from GM as a direct swap , so they wouldnt have to create new parts like driveshafts and trans crossmembers. You use the same driveshaft, same trans mount, all you need is the tv cable plate that bolts onto the carb. Same strenth as a 700, but much cheaper.

Brian is right. I think the 200-4r is the better option for a TH350 replacement for sure. The only thing you'll run into is the crossmember and the TV cable, but you were going to run into those issues anyways with the 700. Drive shaft for the 200-4r is a direct swap.

Mike.

The crossmember is actully the same. There is enough sloting in the stock one for the 1/2 inch differance.

Depending on the tailshaft length of the 350 would determine if the 700 or 200 would bolt right up. The driveshaft will work ok without any work. The 700 will bolt right up to the 350 with 9" shaft. 200 will bolt up to the 350 w/6" shaft length. Make sure you get the 200 w/universal bolt pattery though. A lot of the 200 were for "BOP" engines. The crossmembers will work with just a little finagling but not much work or you could go aftermarket. I have done a lot of swaps from 700 or 200 to 350. So I can help you out. I have a few cores as well.
