My T56 is pretty well toasted. Grinding in 2/3/4 shifts, its like there is NO syncho even in it. I knew the trans was hurt when I bought the car but now's the time to pull it and get it repaired.

The seller had reciepts from a trans shop so I know someones been in it and I think it's time for a reputable shop to fix it.

I want to keep my money in Michigan.

Liberty, D&D, or ?? Better price? Options? Quality? Experiences?

Could be clutch related trouble. Although by now it may have become trouble inside the trans if it has gotten as bad as you indicate. Liberty would be my choice as they are a MM sponsor. D&D does good work and has rebuilt several units for us over the years. Both shops do good work. I'd look at the clutch to while its out.

I know Liberty does good work I know a few guys that have had their T56's done there, I am not sure D&D does service. There is a list of upgrades that they usually try to sell. Depending on the level of abuse you plan to put through it will determine if it's worth the money. Liberty usually charges $250 to teardown inspect and quote the rest of the work.

I think it's pretty bad. Idling in gear clutch engaged 2/3/4 are not blocked and the gears try to engage, the other gears... including reverse.. are blocked.

The previous owner ran it this way for awhile with a centerforce clutch :barf: that feels out of balance. Clutch is coming out too. Hopefully the pilot bearing is not destroyed.
