t56 LT1 rebuild

How much should I expect to pay to have my transmission rebuilt? 97 LT1 T56.

Got a bad vibration at 70mph and I think I got a loose gear or bearing or something as I can hear some tinging coming from the shifter area at higher speeds.

Liberty's was $250 labor + parts when I had mine redone. That said, depending what it needs, parts will add up really quickly. I'd plan on at $1k-$1500 for a completely stock rebuild. Could be less than $1k if you're really lucky or more than $1500 if you do upgrades.

Its not horrible to do yourself, i've done two.

The 5/6 shaft or bearings are prolly shot. If you pay someone to expect ~1200-1500 easy.

Yea T56's can get a little pricey to rebuild. Before you do anything, get the driveshaft balanced, I chased this problem on my Camaro back in the day.
