T-5 Trans build up for 350 V8

Im looking to replace my Saginaw 3-speed with possibly a T-5 to mate to a 350 in my 65 C-10 as its supposed to be the easiest/cheapest trans with OD. From what I am reading they aren't the strong to go with a mild 350, does anyone local build these up to take a 350 in a truck by chance? I don't want to go 700R4 yet but really need OD since the truck came with 4.10 rear. Would love a TKO but $$$. Any help appreciated.

Popular swap is a getrag 5 speed for C-10's out of like 1500 pick up 2wl from the 90's ... have to use a curving shifter handle to clear the bench seat... you can identify them by the bell housing, its part of the trans.... seen lots of info on line from other C-10 owners.... I see this trans from time to time online.. they sell for 500 or less... I would not advise using the T-5 with a V-8... maybe a 6cly.

The shifter is on the floor now and Id like to keep it there, since the clutch is fried I thought I would upgrade the Saginaw 3 speed since its coming out anyway, it is a snychroless 1st gear trans. its not a race truck, wont be doing any 1st gear dumps, well not too many. I know advance adapters makes a AX15 adapter to a SBC and I am going to see how viable that is. I don't understand that R-10 governor/overdrive setup for the 3 speed.
Any advice on the NV3500, seems like there are plenty of those that could be bolted up to a SBC?

If you're going to pull the trans you might as well pull the motor, then complete swap to a FI LS motor with a T56. Don't you have a guy to do this for you anyway?

Might as well do it now since you're going to need a new driveshaft anyway. While your at it I hope you're going to put it on air too.

Correct me if I am wrong, but don't all those transmissions you are trying to swap have a hydraulic clutch setup?

Oh man how cool is that?!? I love the 3 on the tree in my 51, but hate the trans.

easy to add a r10 to your car and keep the column shift

I would put a 3 speed with a R10 overdrive in my dodge in a heartbeat but they are even rarer than my car and its a 2 year specific trans

Not that I would suggest one of these... but I saw this and thought of this thread. I believe this person's parents own speedy transmission on vandyke https://screenshots.firefox.com/4NNReuyFlxRwNbvw/www.facebook.com

Looks like a 833 mopar/ Early T-10 / something Im not sure of.. single rail ford maybe / Non syncronized 3 sp chevy (these come in c-10's) / Ford RUG three speed w fixed yoke/ and what looks like a early borg warner OD ... not positive tho
